Dr. Md. Samiul Hasan is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery at Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute (BSHI), Dhaka, with special expertise in neonatal surgery, pediatric urology, minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery, and colorectal surgery. He is committed to providing modern, evidence-based surgical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
After graduating from Rajshahi Medical College, Dr. Samiul joined Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute in 2011, where he has devoted his career to the treatment of children with complex surgical conditions. He earned his Master of Surgery (MS) in Pediatric Surgery in 2017 and continually advanced his academic and clinical expertise.
In 2021, he completed a prestigious European Board Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at University Medical Center Mainz, Germany, gaining advanced training in neonatal surgery, pediatric minimally invasive surgery, pediatric urology, and complex reconstructive procedures. Through dedication to patient care, teaching, and research, Dr. Samiul became one of the youngest Associate Professors of Pediatric Surgery at Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute.

Academic and Research Excellence
Dr. Samiul is actively involved in clinical research aimed at improving surgical outcomes for children. His work focuses on neonatal surgery, anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung disease, pediatric urology, and minimally invasive pediatric surgery.
He has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles in national and international journals, presented research at many national and international scientific conferences, served as a reviewer for international pediatric surgery journals and contributed to the advancement of evidence-based pediatric surgical practice in Bangladesh. He is also an Executive Committee Member of the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Bangladesh (APSB), where he actively contributes to academic activities and scientific programs.
Commitment to Every Child: In 2021, Dr. Samiul co-founded Stars From The Sky, a non-profit initiative dedicated to improving pediatric surgical care in Bangladesh. The organization works to strengthen infrastructure, promote education and training, support research, and expand access to modern pediatric surgical services across the country.
His vision is simple: Every child deserves safe, timely, and evidence-based surgical care, regardless of where they are born.
