Pediatric endourology is a rapidly expanding super specialty of pediatric surgery and urology. Increasingly more urological procedures are being performed endoscopically in children. Its inherent characteristic of minimal invasiveness made it beneficial for tiny babies. But, the unavailability of sophisticated instruments and practical training made it inaccessible to the underprivileged children of Bangladesh. ”Stars from the sky” aims to develop skilled professionals to provide the best service to needy children.

As a part of this endeavor, Stars from the sky is organizing Hands-on training programs on ‘Basics in pediatric endourology’ for young pediatric surgeons and urologists. This intensive training aims to spread the technical details of endourology among young surgeons so that they can perform basic endourological procedures in children individually. Dr. Samiul Hasan, assistant professor of pediatric surgery from Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute and president of ‘Stars from the sky,’ conducted this intensive training program. Three young pediatric surgeons, Dr. Jahidur Rahman, Dr. Rayhan Mahbub, and Dr. Shanchita Saha, got training in the first batch of this program. They learned technical details and practiced in the operation theatre. All three participants were highly motivated and enthusiastic about the training.
